This, and previous game 1942, are historically surreal in that they are both Japanese designed games where you are an American fighter pilot (flying a Lockheed P-38 Lightning) taking on the entire Japanese Airforce. In this case, you are recreating the Battle of Midway, a decisive naval battle in the Japanese Pacific Theater. Except you are taking it on a year later for some reason.
