Synthesizer Saturday: Prince Symbol Floppy Disk And Font


Found this article by tech writer Anil Dash regarding a purchase of a music industry/press insider floppy disk issued when musician Prince famously changed his name to a custom symbol. This floppy disk contains a font with the symbol so writers in the music press could utilize it. Also included in the article were these instructions for use:


Over at Mental Floss, they report that the font has been extracted and converted to Windows and Microsoft compatible TrueType, extracting it from an obsolete Font Suitcase filetype from the video game Prince Interactive. You can download it here.
